New family member

Just a quick one today as it is already late (it's not really that late but I am getting old so it certainly feels late), and I am dying to go to bed.

We have been talking about adding to the pet side of our family for a while now and finally decided on a guinea pig as we aren't allowed to keep rabbits in QLD. So today we went out to the recycle depot and found the most fantastic bargain, a gorgeous green guinea pig hutch that only had the smallest patch of rust (which we have covered) for only $5! With the hutch firmly secured to the roof bars we headed off to the pet shop and picked our new fur baby. His name is Felix (for now, he has already been through two other names so far) and his fur/hair(??) is salt and pepper with a white strip across his belly.

Lacey loves him but seems to think he is a puppy, sooo cute when she sits there calling for the puppy and doesn't understand why we keep saying "no baby, guinea" but I'm sure she will get it eventually and for now it's gorgeous.

The older kids are wrapped and love they can do so much for him (especially Annabelle who thought it was great fun to sneak him her left over salad).

Anyway, short and sweet for tonight.
